Say Nothing (Poem)
Let's watch the flames Burn to ashy ember, And the shore soften The rage of the sea: We are witnesses. But not just witnesses... I see, in my mind's eye, Your mind's eye staring Into my mind's eye: Two souls forever entwined. Not lost - not knowing; Just somewhat aware Of the marks they now Make and not the changes I see their faces emblazoned on ours; I hear their calls, not made by words. I can hear them coming, these fragments of ours, their footsteps. Can you? …say nothing. Let's smile as we gaze into This indifferent smoldering flame And our hearts singing silent unsung song of love, And the universe glad we share a space. © Jude Ifeme
