What is life?

We are willing characters playing out acts we have neither been briefed nor fully understand; so eager are we to live life, so expectant, yet so disappointed.

Life is one big book of endless comedies, endless discoveries, and end endless tragedies; all scripted in a random sequence.

At the end of every scene in this endlessness, we are left with at question marks: Has one done the right act? Has one taken the right part? Is one being tempted? And there goes the conscience of a man, ruffled to surrender at the feet of twisted fate.

Our joy, our faith, our hope, all beyond immediate control; all presenting even more questions, so we seek to comprehend the unanswered, seek for meaning to our very existence. But first, we must identify with who we are, what place is ours, and we must make difficult choices.

So we have to look back at the past, steal into the future; history, horoscope, religion, rebellion – all in search of inner peace and belonging. Sometimes we settle for what we find, but the quest never truly ends. Or does it? Ultimately, we either surrender in obedience, or perish in arrogance.

But our characters and roles are subject to change and so are the scenes; sinners become saints, critics are critiqued, the wealthy know poverty, the strong lose strength, the unstable become stable, and the changes continue. It appears that in the end all we have is our soul, our soul because sooner or later we are bound to lose everything else, everything else.

Our days are numbered, our time exhaustible, and our lives scripted by the invincible hand. For every action, every passion, every direction there are consequences, costs or rewards. And it doesn’t matter who we believe in, how we be believe, or if we choose not to; it all changes nothing. Nothing can change the existence of the higher force, the Almighty God.

We are mere mortals, hosts to good and evil, and suddenly, or eventually, we will embrace death, but we all get to live out our parts, however brief.

But if we must stay strong, we must take life as it comes. See the things we go through as only chapters in the book of our lives. Know that no situation should destroy the good we have inside, because each page sooner or later flips past, leaving behind crucial lessons. And if we do not dwell in the past for longer than necessary, we will find that each chapter eventually reveals its share of purpose.
