Who Are You?

It does not always follow that because it is one’s body then they are content with it. For this very reason people will go for all manners of body jobs; reconstruct the person they are into that they wish they were, become shadows or false replicas – at ease with flaunting appendages.

Except filled, we go about with one form of discontent or the other; mostly probing and desiring more than acknowledging and accepting that things are made for reasons, and that there is a purpose for even the most insignificant – and that uniqueness is the beauty behind the creation of man. Except for a few close calls, we are widely different, not just in looks but in thoughts; we are meant to be different.

Sadly, there will always be that tendency to want to be like someone else because of our emotion-blurred perception of the superiority of their form or worth. In the kind of world we live in today – a world where corporations decide what is beautiful, healthy or acceptable because it swells their deep pockets or keep them on top of the chat of things – people will constantly grapple for matching definition for true worth. For this rather inherent propensity to be swayed by emotions and discontent, we will always be exploited for what we are worth and yet be given one shot less to our satisfaction.

There is nothing wrong with looking good and being beautiful or be seen as such but the question is – who defines your idea of beauty? Because that will say a lot about the quality of life you have or will eventually have led.

Today, some have largely succeeded in painting generic pictures of what beauty should be seen as, many have also followed and are comfortable with such shallow crafts, and have blindly pursued – sometimes with grave consequences. Consequently, there are more people going about in acquired looks – people who were not happy with where they used to be, and are also unhappy with where they are. This is because deep inside you know who you are, in spite of your new mask.

It would rather be out of proper reasoning to conclude that everything about one’s body should make them happy, but that is who you are. It is important that contentment is sort from within. When you abandon yourself to another person's image, you will always be left wondering; what next?
